"YESTERDAY I WAS CLEVER, SO I WANTED TO CHANGE THE WORLD. TODAY I AM WISE, SO I AM CHANGING MYSELF"- RUMI
Can one person change healthcare? Probably not. But we are each able to change ourselves, the way we interact with peers, and the way we treat patients. It's time we stop complaining and start changing.
I am not naive. Change is hard. But powerful change starts small. Start with yourself. Begin to consider why you do what you do. Take care of yourself. Change the way you interact with staff and patients. Start to look at your organization. Does it really support medicine as ministry? How can you start the conversation?
